NanaM - Do you do parkour...or free running?
I would like to do it but I think i am a bit too old for such things.
How do they actually do this? Do they teach the moves then go and run around a bit? Or...I have no clue...but would be interested to know!!
Amazing stuff.

Thanks NanaM for the links. I am interested, and I'd like to give it try.

No I'm not practising but this parkour thing was made famous by a French crew, then I watched a few vids on YouTube - like this amazing chase scene from District B13 movie.
I guess the most important thing is to go step by step and have a good physical condition. Don't try right away impossible things
People practising Parkour at high-level (like David Belle) have a long sportive background (David Belle was a gymnastics champion). So take it easy in the beginning to avoid stupid injuries. This is probably what people from the association will tell you. It may be more fun to start with a group and learn tricks from others.

There was an article in Hesari a couple of weeks ago about parkour at Heureka. Kids practise on the stones outside the museum.
My youngest used to jump around a lot but he was always hurting himself and then missing football practice.
especially feet and knees. You probably need some good footware, he used to wear his skate shoes
, which was part of the problem. Now he's airsofting again, much safer.

Airsoft!!???
I wanna do that too!!
I'm up for trying anything..if it's looks like fun and is a bit 'intense'.

Yeah - I know a bit (but only a little bit) about it...watched youtube stuff etc. Belle is a great athelete, I respect him a lot. I would probably have a go, despite my age if I didn't have a ton of injuries. I have a lot of respect for athletes who have such amazing control over their body and a lot courage. I have neither.NanaM wrote:No I'm not practising but this parkour thing was made famous by a French crew, then I watched a few vids on YouTube - like this amazing chase scene from District B13 movie.
