How on earth do Finnish people measure bikes?

Where to buy? Where can I find? How do I? Getting started.

How on earth do Finnish people measure bikes?

Post by jwoods » Fri Jun 05, 2009 7:53 pm

I'm planning on selling my old mountain bike, but I've no idea how Finnish people calculate the sizes!

I always thought it was from the top of the frame where the seat post goes in, to the middle of the crank-shaft where the pedals connect.

So an average man's bike will be 16" - 22"

But when looking at bikes in Finland they're often 26" - 28"

Does anyone know where they're measuring to-from, otherwise people will think I'm advertising a children's bike :)

Why don't you just post it here for sale?

If you are in he capital area and have an adult's bike you won't find shortage of interested buyers.

Well, it's quite a big bike - I am very tall. So I should find out the actual size when advertising it :)

Excellent idea! I've mentioned it in the For Sale section of this excellent forum :)

I'm quite proud of myself for also almost single-handedly navigating huuto.net and listing it there too :)

This sentence made no sense whatsoever, consider using it in your stand up comedy act on wednesday and see what kind of reaction you get!

It makes sense only with "finnish summer" - we got an inch of hail yesterday at the time I wrote that. Amd it was sporadic thunderstorms.
