Cost of Bathroom renovation Tampere

Post by cressers » Sun Jun 07, 2009 11:28 pm

Hey - we are going to look at apartment tomorrow, and the bathroom needs doing. THe pipes were done 1998, but the bathroom is pretty shocking.

I would estimate all tiles and fittings need replacing.

What would be a ballpark figure for getting this done, and does anyone have any recommendations for people to do it? We would not take top of the line fittings, so would budget about 800€ for fittings.

So the tiles are going to be ripped off -> new water seal, that can only be done by professional with certificates -> money, money, money...

Quick googling and common sense would suggest that your figure is in right ballpark.

My own two cents: Go with an individual [who has his own company] than with ones that advertise themselves heavily. The individual guys work by reputation, but do ask around for references for your friends and colleagues.

There is one of the bigger companies that advertises itself very heavily and we have not had very good experiences with, and I would never take them again. If you are interested in knowing the name, please PM me. Hint? The name is full of rust and full of holes as far as I am concerned! As far as I understand, the take the contract and subcontract it to on of the individuals above. In that case, these guys are just there for the pitiful amount that they get and don't care about the reputation or the quality. This is in stark difference to hiring them directly by references.

Kind regards.

That makes sense. All that advertising is very expensive, and the customer ends up paying for it.

Do the bigger cities have websites yet where consumers list and rank best-and-worst of those types of services?
