What to wear to a Finnish wedding in August?

Here I am clueless as ever again. BIL is taking the dive and getting hitched in early August.

I have no idea what faux pas there are here about what colors, etc. Sadly most of my wardrobe is more for funerals so I am lacking in dressy summer apparael..I also can't spell lol. Is it socially acceptable here to wear black to a wedding reception?

Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated

Both all white (if bride is in white) and black might be a no-no, but black spiced up with some other colour should be ok. Also bare arms and shoulders be might frowned upon by some if it is a church wedding. Enjoy the wedding!

I find the stuff in "Your Face" perfect for weddings, great looking dress and classy.

My SIL got married last year in August, it was raining very heavily and it was really cold though

I think something a little dressy and wear a nice shawl/shoulder wrap or take a coat in case it does get cool. I'd steer clear of black or white.

I'm not so sure about the mozzie thing - we spent a week by the lake in Aug '07 and I think we heard one the whole time we were there. You really got to get over here to Australia and see what real mozzies are

I use my funeral suit. I mean who would know the difference? It is a funeral of dude's freedom anyway.
