Fuzzi Bunz - good or bad?
Fuzzi Bunz - good or bad?
Hi all
As our little son will be born in september and thus the need of diapers will occur - we are going the re-usable diapers way.
We are looking at the Fuzzi Bunz brand and found this webpage:
http://www.mukelomesta.fi/catalog/13/fuzzi-bunz/
This shop sells them for 16€ apiece if 15+ are purchased.
Does anyone have experience with Fuzzi Bunz? Pros and cons? Any alternatives? How many will we need of each size?

Re: Fuzzi Bunz - good or bad?
I love love love my fuzzi bunz.
My advise would be to buy mainly size M. We used the S size only for a few weeks before Aaron outgrew them. So if you get S size I'd say go for second hand ones (found on huuto for about 10€ with the insert). If you plan on using only washables, then you should be fine with 14. So that you'll always have a day supply of clean ones.
I have never used them during the night so can't comment on that. But seeing as if you leave them for too long your baby will be wet I prefer using disposable for the night.
You also will need a bin with a lid to put the dirty nappies. I have the special bag where you put the dirty ones in and shove everything in the washing machine. It's brilliant. Bought it from the US though, I don't know if you'll find it here.
Gigi also uses Fuzzi Bunz and she seems very happy with them.

Indeed as Amandine already mentioned, I also use Fuzzi Bunz and I am satisfied with them too.
We used the S-size for a longer time then Amandine, for about 2-3 months, if I remember right. Our son loves to pee a lot, so I have made some extra inserts myself form bamboo and flanneli (sorry don't know the word in English) and if I add a double insert (so the FB one + one of my own) our son lasts better. But during the night that neither lasts, so I prefer to use a sisävaippa + kuorivaippa (see photo) or woolen pants. They last well through the night.
As Amandine already suggested check huuto for 2nd hand ones, or join the Finnish cloth diaper association, they have also 2nd hand markets. BumGenius are also good diapers but they absorb a bit better.

Oh and about storing them. I indeed also have a big bucket with a lid to store the diapers, but also have a big and small bag for travelling purposes.

And now that I got your attention, hehe, do any of you know the Voksi bag, by chance?
We just spent a small fortune on one, and are thinking of bringing a few with us to Finland.

Didn't know it either so I went to check it.
Looks very cute. I like the urban collection. But it's quite expensive. If you plan on selling them you might not make money our of it, let alone cover your costs.

Ah - with the pricetag they carry from start I don't plan on retiring from the profit...just thought someone wanted them since they don't exist in Finland (of all places )
We were actually looking for them in Finland - but none could be found - and after reading some forums, we discovered that those Voksi bags was on the wish list of many parents.
Oh well, we got the Safari Classic with a carrier plate etc for around 300€ total
and it should last around 5 years. Let's see how it goes.
Damn it's expensive to carry the mamma and pappa title!
