I am coming for one month to Helsinki (july 2009). I would like to buy or to rent a bicycle to move around. I know it can rain a lot, but i prefer bike than public transport. Where can i get this info or where can i buy/rent/borrow it? Is it easy to sell it after that?
Thanks

Re: To rent/buy a bicycle
Rent seems to be 120-200e/month, you can buy basic bicycle from biltema for 120-200e. If you want better then its something like 500e.

I remembered correctly, there is free "lend a bike" service in Helsinki centre. http://www.hel.fi/wps/portal/HKL_en/Art ... /Citybikes
Area where you can use it is limited but its free.

Re: To rent/buy a bicycle
Hi,
If you are from Slovenia (as your tag suggests!), if you are flying from Ljubljana with Finnair on the summer direct flights, you can take your bike for a very reasonable amount - I paid 15 euro last time - there is some clause or something that you are allowed to take 1 piece of sports equipment, and a bike counts. This would be cheaper that buying or renting once you get there. Maybe you've been to Finland loads of times, don't know, but if you haven't, beware, Helsinki ain't LJ, don't leave the bike anywhere, it'll be nicked, pronto.
