I am a Canadian living in Helsinki with a type A working permit valid until 2012. I have been registered unemployed for 6 months now but am not receiving any unemployment money from kela. I decided it would take too much time to fill out all the forms to be considered for the unemployment money.
I have now got a job offer in London. My Finnish friend said i could receive 3 months of salary for 'seeking a job abroad'.
Does this apply to me since I am unemployed and seeking a job from abroad??
Any advice would be much appreciated!

not exactly, you need to be registered in the employment offices database as an "active jobseeker" - usually those people are entitled to some unemployent benefits depending on a number of things. but if you're not in the computer - you're not "unemployed" as far as they're concerned. so for example if you'd want to go on a course or there'd be some kind of apprenticeship thing or say starting up your own business money - well as you ain't "unemployed"... but you saved a lot of time with that paperwork.ailuj wrote:ok.
