amazon delivery
Re: amazon delivery
One input from me: http://www.thehut.com
Jersey, but they send everything individually (i.e. if you order 2 DVDs they will come in two seperate envelopes) which reduces the risk to pay duty and tax. And you can pay in GBP. And they do not charge with the Finnish VAT.
But play.com and amazon.co.uk can still be cheaper from case to case.

Cheers...the more ideas the merrier...you never know who has the deals.
To the USA issue. I've been ordering for 20 or so years...I've never had a problem with ordering from the US...most of them know the score and also don't want the tax issue to scare you off buying so they are smart enough to send the goods in a few different parcels (of course they don't advertise the fact). I know some martial arts guys got stung but they were ordering Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu Gis/kimonos and they're a bit bulky. and weigh a fair bit. But for books, CDs, games, smaller goods you should be fine. although things have got tougher, cos of the cheap US dollar everyone is ordering from the US and the customs have got a bit wiser and stricter...but I ordered a few things from the US and had no problem.

Re: amazon delivery
so, you can order a used book from amazon.uk and get the cheap shipping like £ 2.75 or so? Last spring, I though about ordering a used book from amazon (US), but the shipping would have costed 20 dollars to send it to Finland. The shipping was 4x more that the book itself. I wondering if it's a different story with the UK amazon or DE amazon. I really love used occult books.

Re: amazon delivery
Yes...It's about 2.75 not suure about Amazon france and Germany though, should be the same.
I'm sure it's different if the item in amazon UK is from America.
You could try Ebay for used books.

What's the value which I don't need to exceed?Iseult wrote:^It's also worth keeping in mind that Play.com ships from Jersey, hence you'll have to pay duty + tax if the value of the shipment is big enough.
Re: amazon delivery
You don't want to exceed 45,40. From tulli.fi:r32 wrote:What's the value which I don't need to exceed?Iseult wrote:^It's also worth keeping in mind that Play.com ships from Jersey, hence you'll have to pay duty + tax if the value of the shipment is big enough.
Shortly: Jersey is part of european duty zone = no duties, but is outside european VAT zone = you pay VAT... but only if the VAT to be collected would be 10e or over... hence with VAT of 22% and 45,40 order = duty free!Esimerkki 1
Jerseyn saarelta tilataan dvd-levy, jonka hinta postikuluineen on 45,40 euroa. Jersey
tulevan 45,40 euron arvoisen dvd-lähetyksen saa kotiin veroitta.

This applies to all products from Jersey not only to DVDs, right?Upphew wrote:You don't want to exceed 45,40.
