I am sorry to know about it.
If you have no premenant residence before applying for divorce (sending first paper) then odds may not be in your favor. If you are unsure then you should contact to local police office. They may advice you better.

I totally agree with onkko. In migri's eyes, you just had a fake marriage to get the permanent RP, and trying outsmart them by your divorce as soon as you get the PRP. The best way you can do is to get your knee down and face down, and convince your future ex wife that you can be a WONDERFUL HUSBAND for next a few months. If that's not possible, hand her a dagger and a bottle of liquor, so when she gets drunk, make sure she shank your body all over. Then it makes so much easier for you to prove that you've been psychologically traumatized and needs a serious medical attention. I've seen a similar situation in the US a few years ago, but this mexican guy handed her wife a gun instead of a knife. Unfortunately, she shot him on the head so no permanent residency for him. No gun, No sushi knife! Just a tiny camping knife.

You mean they buried him in Mexico? Those bastards at la migra can be coooold!
As he persisted, I was obliged to tootle him gently at first and then, seeing no improvement, to trumpet him vigorously with my horn.

I meant it happened in the US. I really don't know what happened after his death, but it happened like 4 houses down from where I live.
