Fine Issued by Norwegian Police
Dear All:
Assuming a person living in Finland got a speeding fine issued by Norwegian Police while he/she was traveling in Norway
and he/she refuses to pay the fine after the trip, will any Finnish authority start the enforcement proceeding towards that person at the request of the corresponding Norwegian authority ? Is there such a legal channel between Nordic countries ? My colleague told me that there seems to be such channel between Finland and Sweden. What about Norway and Finland ?
There is such "Nordic Union" nowadays, can anyone advise how much the Nordic countries have been integrated and cooperating amoung them, especially in the legal and administrative matter ?
Cheers,
Ritchie

I don't know.
But assuming this imaginary person (it's incredibly hard to guess his/her identity you see) actually behaved like an adult and just paid the fine issued by the Norwegian police, what would happen then?

Already since 1963.
Norwegians, funny usually they want you to pay on the spot... was it now they send one reminder with surcharge and then it doubles and then you get the bailiff.

To be more precise: the fine was not paid on the spot, but a ticket was issued. Of course, the identity of the person can be found from the driving license, thus was written down in the ticket. What would be the consequence if the fine is not paid ?

Cosequences are what Pursuivabt already told you. This is a quote from a Finnish discussion where somebody posed the same question you asked here: "Norjassa saadun sakon voi maksaa Suomessa. Mikäli maksua ei suorita, tulee eräpäivästä muutaman viikon kuluttua korotettu sakkomaksu, mikäli tämäkin jää hoitamatta, tulee sakkoon tupla korotus.
Mikäli tämäkin jää hoitamatta, siirtyy perintä muille viranomaisille, joten sakon maksamatta jättäminen ei ole paras vaihtoehto."
After a few days you will get a new ticket with a raised fine, then you get another one where the fine is double, and then you get the bailiff.

Re: Fine Issued by Norwegian Police
Does anyone have any idea which Finnish authority (district court, tax office, police ) will take the action or act as bailiff ?
Actually, I checked Espoo District court (Länsi-Uudenmaan Ulosottovirasto), Espoo Police and tax office, they all said that they do not cooperate with Norwegian authority. What is "bailiff" in Finnish ?
