How to get Helsinki to Tampere?

Hei All,

How can I go to Tampere after I landed in Helsinki!! I could not find any direct flights to Tampere so, I should learn the fastest way to get to Tampere from Helsinki?

Train?
Bus?
Another flight again?

Theres a coach service from athe airport, mind you though you need to switch buses, so its a bit of a pain with the luggage. www.expressbus.fi = Helsinki-Vantaan lentoasema => Tampere Or you can go to Tikkurila and catch a train.

In my experience, there was no transfer while going to Tampere from airport. While coming there was always a transfer where both the buses were parked less than 20 metres and the driver helped in hauling the luggage.
I would suggest ExpressBus as the most convenient connection from Vantaa airport to Tampere.

I think I wont be able to get to Tampere before 16:00. Than the TOAS office will be closed, I will stay in a hotel room for one night!!!

Okey, then,,

I will have a cabin and a big luggage maybe even a backpack.

I had decided to come Tampere by train, but unfortunately it will cause some problems with luggages. If it is OK with trains in Finland, especially with Pendelino, I would like to travel by train.
My other options are bus and flight. Actually I could not come across to Information where the buses leave from in Helsinki? Bus will be a cheaper option for me.
My last chance is to fly again from Helsinki to Tampere. It will cost me like 242 Euros, and it is a little bit expensive

So, how do you get Tampere when you have luggages?

bus is easiest. The bus leaves from right outside the terminal and drops you in the centre of tampere.

enter vantaa and tampere and the times, cheaper than the train too.

Train - you need to either take a bus to main railway station in helsinki, or tikkurila railway. And there are steps....

first of all, if you want to go by train, you need to go from airport to Train station ( Which is easy by taking a Finnair bus cost of €5.80 or )

It keeps saying that "It is not possible to buy ticket to this departure via Internet "

pfff

Is there any possibility to find and buy ticket when I landed in Helsinki. I am afraid I can not find bus ticket???

Buy from the driver directly unless you have extra time and see some separate sales office. Apparently they even accept visa and master card in addition to cash http://www.expressbus.fi/?id=104

Thanks to the reply but when I clicked to buy ticket, it says what I just wrote up there,

First when I landed, I will try to buy tickets from hand, than if it does not work, I will try to reach Tampere by train...

If you actually read the previous reply (and check out the link provided) you can see that you do not need to buy the tickets beforehand - so no need to take the train because of that. Just turn up and buy the ticket from the driver. They even take credit cards (no Visa Electron, though). I believe it's also the same price, regardless of whether you buy beforehand or from the driver.

So, how do you get Tampere when you have luggages?

If cheap is what you're looking for and you want to go to Tampere, why not fly with Ryanair? From Tampere airport it's a 35 minutes drive to the city centre and it costs +-€2. Flights arrive at around 3pm/4pm.
