can anybody tell me where or how to find preparatory materials for IELTS exams

I bet you can find a book in most of bookshops. You can order it from internet ...Where's problem?

IELTS has a large amount of preparatory material on its own website http://www.ielts.org including examples from the reading, writing, listening and speaking tests http://www.ielts.org/candidates.aspx. These are downloadable for free (unlike TOEFL which charges for most of its prep materials). On the same website you will find examples of graded writing tests and brief descriptions of the bands (scores).

There are also published materials available in the shops. I would recommend the "Masterclass" series published by Oxford University Press and "IELTS Graduation" published by Macmillan.
