Curling Clubs in Helsinki?

I am currently on an 18-month work assignment in Helsinki, and am interested in joining a curling club. As none of my Finnish friends curl, I am looking for suggestions for a club that meets about every other week, welcomes amateurs, and is located near Helsinki. Please let me know if you can help. I'd recommend Helsingin Yliopiston Curlaajat, HYC, "Helsinki University Curlers", http://www.hyccurling.com/_mgxroot/page_10746.html , I'm still on their mailing list though i have not curled for some 3 years. The curling hall is at Oulunkylä, owned by http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markku_Uusipaavalniemi .

I'm surpriced she didn't forward you. I suppose she saw my post above because she removed me from the mailing list. I removed her info here, obviously not wanted.

You could look http://www.curling.fi/en/curling-in-finland/clubs and try some. Language might be a problem - I suppose all activity is in Finnish, so you can't expect a club to change that.

I just did some work for a customer who is a pretty good curler in Finland. His team once placed I think 3rd in the Finnish Championships. However two of his teamates are retiring and unless they find 2 curlers by fall, the team will fold. This may be a golden opportunity for you and for anyone else on this Forum who wishes to do some competitive curling. PM me and I will forward a phone number.
