Where to get rid of English books?

Post by jhnn » Wed Aug 05, 2009 9:48 am

Hi,
We have quite a few books, mostly in English, that we would like to get rid of. Does anyone know a second-hand bookshop in Helsinki willing to buy English books? We used to go to Ervasti in Kallio, but unfortunately he had to close down a little while ago.

Thank you.

If you are not after getting vile money for you books, you could try to bring them
to the local branch of the city library. IIRC in Leppävaara they have a shelf for people to exchange books.

You can leave them in Hietalahti Kierratyskeskus, - take tram No. 6, get off at Hietalahti market (you will see it when there), walk to the direction where the tram continues, and turn left at the first street (LONROTINKATU). Walk about 60 m, and on your right you will see one of the 2 Kierratyskeskus of Helsinki. (Re-cycling centre).
They accept used books, clothing etc also furniture, and people can either buy them there, or get them free.

It's a bit of hassle but have you put them up on the board (For Sale and Wanted)?

Might be something people here want!
