Thank you for the link but i couldn't solve the problem still.

Well, I googled some of the ways n found some solutions like :

- shrinking the hd space in C: drive and creating new space for xp............and installing xp in tht new space.

- installing windows XP sata controller driver and proceeding with the installation.

- enabling naive sata IDE emulation mode.........

.................

I tried all of the ways but none of them solved the problem. It always shows error message that the hard drive is not detected and gives only option to quit the setup.
Somewhere, i also read that , i need to have a floppy with the SATA controller driver for windows XP, which i need to execute by pressing F6 during the installation process. But the problem is, i don't have the slot for floppy drive in my laptop.

Can anyone give me some better suggestions regarding this. How can i have XP installed in my laptop?

Desperately waiting for some better ones. :x

Thank you.

I remember when I had to install XP on my wife's laptop, I had to change the SATA settings on BIOS in order for XP to detect the HDD. I will check what settings need to be changed and will post it here.
