Billiards in Helsinki

Post by forest_girl » Fri Aug 14, 2009 11:20 pm

Hey guys, my boyfriend is interested in teaching me how to play billiards, are there any places in Helsinki where billiards would be not a part of a bar/club, but just like separate thing (like bowlings are, separate buildings) ? (Or in some quiet place, but not in a bar... )

If somebody know, please write the place or give a webpage link ;)

Thanks in advance!

Well Chaplins got a load of tables downstairs if you want smack centre, its next to ClaesOhlson on mannerheimintie in the Erottaja end across the Swedish Theatre. A bit seedy but location is easy.

Yep, the Ritz is nice but pretty expensive. Plus, when you order a drink they look at you as if you just walked into their house and shat on their kids.

There's a decentish place in Kallio that's just for snooker and pool. Can't remember what it's called, but Salopian knows it.
He'll probably be along to help out once he's finished being dragged through the forest by a yak.

Yep, maybe Toinen but I'm not certain. It's across the road from the Mascot bar.

Ah, perhaps you mean Jorin pelisali at Mäkelänkatu 4. 3 snooker tables and as many pool tables, I think. Cheaper than the Ritz.

Thanks for the info dudes, we'll probably try out some of these, but the Tali as the first priority. I want to show how bowling is played to my boyfriend and he wants to show billiards to me  Quite a nice feeling, when everything is in the same building :)

Remember that "taskubiljardi", although it can be translated as pocket billiards, is totally different game and you must have proper equipment to play... :P

Is that the place you fluked a 2-0 win against me when I had an injured elbow?
