How can i invite my boyfriend to visit me?

Hej. I am a foreign national and I really need advice about inviting someone to Finland to pay me a visit. i have a b status visa. My boyfriend and i haven't seen each other for 3 years so i want him to pay me a short visit like for 3 months. Does someone please know what recommendations i need or anything? thank you.

So I gather he's a non-EU who needs to get a Schengen visa? Might be tricky depending on his situation and what the country is. The invitation is simple in itself, theres only a few snags there.

Write an invitation letter addressed to the Finnish Consulate located in the country of your boyfriend. Mention that you want to invite your boyfriend to Finland between this and that dates. That he will be staying with you at your address during that time. Write about your status in Finland and contact details. Don't forget to sign it! Send it to your boyfriend by mail.

Your boyfriend should apply for visa with this invitation letter. However, because of the facts that Pursuivant told, there is no guarantee that he will get the visa....

You can always visit your "boyfriend" in his country. If hes willing to buy tickets in here he can buy tickets to you.

Wow! They haven't seen each other for 3 years? That is the most amazing long distance relationship I ever heard of. Do you think he's likely to get a visa if that piece of information is needed/solicited? Might smell of "my cousin needs to get into a Schengen country, so now he's my boyfriend"........................

Yep, got the same idea, like the African some weeks ago with the married woman. If there comes a baby in these three months we get again sad stories in the HS.

If they haven't seen each other for 3 years, I wouldn't be so sure he was still her boyfriend. It might indeed be the "get me into Shengen" thing.

Well thanks for the advice to all who replied and for the advice . its not a schengen thing or whatever. i really love my bf and i have waited for 3 years. i cant go home and visit him coz i have just finished school and landed a job, where i am on probation so i cant begin asking for holidays to go abroad. anyways its not always that when people wanna come here its becoz they want schengen people!!!!! there is no harm in visiting some1 just coz they are not from EU doesnt mean they cant travel without people raising eyebrows! come on.

General enquiries about travel documents accepted by Finland and visa issues should be emailed to the passport and visa unit in Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Enquiries about the progress of visa applications or about the application procedure itself should be made directly to the Finnish embassy processing the matter (and not to finlandforum.org).
