Does bottle of "yleis-puhdistusaine" disinfect?

Post by luckykitty » Thu Aug 13, 2009 1:05 pm

It's for general cleaning, so does it disinfect? the brand is Pirkka, it doesn't actually say what's inside. does it disinfect the toilet seat for example? And can it cause irritation? it has no perfume in it, but don't know what is in it.Thanks

Sure you can wash it with soapy water. It just doesn´t come clean as easily as with a detergent. "Yleis" mean "general", so it is sort of "for everything" (not wood, though). If you want something that really does the job for toilet seat, you get someting that reads "WC-puhdistusaine". It has chlorine in it.

Pirkka got bleach and wc-puhdistusaine, the main difference is in the PH to the general detergent.

They don't "do" such atibacterigological whatevers to protect the nature and avoid superbacterias.

For laundry bleach as well as bathroom cleaning I use the Pirkka brand Pirkka valkaisu&puhdistusaine -it has a soapy texture and doesn't "eat away" as aggressively as say Klorit or the other ones so like white socks and oily tees can be in the bucket for half a day...

Love that, that's uh, always been my favourite thing about scandinavia? :O

Thanks for the answers too :D wow now I know heaps of stuff about soaps and disinfectants. I read somewhere that its actually the rubbing action in soap that gets rid of the bacteria, it makes the water wetter, so its mostly the rubbing action D:

Tensides are detergents. They are named for the fact that they break (the ide) surface tension (the tens).

P.S. I believe it's actually an English word, though surfactant or detergent are obviously used more often.

Who the hell bleaches white socks? If your socks get so dirty they need bleaching just buy a new pair. They're like €5's a pack.
