For all FF peeps near Leppävaara: there is a really nice new Asian food shop near the Alepa close to the Galeria shopping center and R-kioski across the train tracks from Sello.

I've been there twice and quite pleased with the selection and service - like hakkaniemi - good frozen fish, seafood, dim sum, plus frozen lime leaves etc. Good spice and instant noodle selection - mostly thai, but also stuff from philippines, korea, india, japan. Plus lots candies, canned good, rice, etc., etc. They sell fresh tofu and chinese vegs, but have very small supply as they're new and haven't figured out right order size to fit demand. The shop keepers are very nice and do take requests, so if, like me, you go to these shops for the bok choy and greens, let them know.

o.k. end of *commercial* Not intended to be one, but I've been so excited about this place bringing all my nam nam treats into convenient distance that I couldn't help it!

By any chance, did you notice if they have the huge bags of Japanese rice? Would love to save a trip to Hakaniemi!

they have huge bags of rice, but not sure of the brands. Try ringing them, the managers/owners speak v.good english and finnish. 09 4289 0448

I was there again Friday, this place will be the end of me. Their friges were stuffed with amazing veggies, so I went nuts! I got some kind of bok choy I've never seen - hardly any white, just *huge* green leaves sim in size to chard (it was more bitter than I think of bok choy usually, but nice). Plus, tiny, goosberry sized eggplants, some kind of squash, smaller "shanghai" bok choy, green papaya for salad and regular papaya for sweet eating. Still ripening that last one. Plus I restocked on tofu, thai mixes, ramen etc. and spent maybe 23 euros for two huge bags .

Oh...hum...now I actually have to cook up the rest of this stuff....
