Kittens

Post by entwistle007 » Fri Apr 03, 2009 9:33 am

my wife and I would like to get a kitten.
We dont need a pedigree cat, just a regular cat who is in need of a loving home.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also if anyone needs a cat looked after over Easter then we would be happy to take care of it.
We would also like to check our catology skills :D

Get a rescue cat from the animal protection association (HESY)?
The pets come vaccinated, dewormed and neutered.

They do not answer to phone calls or emails, you have to get there by yourselves. If you specifically want a kitten the best season is late summer eg August.

Please, avoid the kitten factories ie people who have kittens done just to sell them!!!!

http://www.rekkurescue.com/

We adopted two kittens from Rekku Rescue last year, they mostly come from Estonia (with kitty passports!), very reliable organization, and you get to see pictures of what kind of cat you'd like before getting them. We had tried getting kittens from several other places first, for example from http://www.pelastetaankissat24.com/, but they decided that, because I'm from America, even though my husband is a Finn, I'm not qualified to be a decent mother to any of their many cats who are desperately searching for homes. Ridiculous. So, I'm very happy with the experience we had from Rekku. They have older cats, too, but still lots of kittens.
