Hi there:
Living in Jyväskylä and was in need of some help.
Where can I get a phone book? Would I go to Elisa??
As well - where can I see a vet for my dogs (just in case anything is urgent) and are there any kennels for boarding the dogs here? I know Jyväskylä is fairly small in comparison to the other big cities - but it would be great to find out this information as my husband and baby would like to travel next year in the spring time.
Also - where can I purchase flea/tick treatment?
Thank you so much.

Vets, Kennels and a Phone book?
Re: Vets, Kennels and a Phone book?
Local telcos no longer print their own phone books – this service has been outsourced to external companies. Try Fonecta or their rival Eniro. You might also want to try the Internet-based phone directory services provided by the aforementioned companies (02.fi for Fonecta, henkilot.eniro.fi for Eniro.)panda_123 wrote:Where can I get a phone book? The use of phone books has been on the wane in the recent years as people have been increasingly exchanging their old landlines for mobile phones. The mobile phone numbers are not (or at least did not use to be) automatically listed in the phone books, which has contributed to their perceived “obsolescence”. Many people would now rather look up phone numbers on the Internet or via voice-based or SMS-based number enquiry services than use a traditional, bulky phone book. (Yellow pages type services are also on the Internet now so you don’t necessarily need a phone book for that, either.)
That said, you can order the phone book of your local area (Keski-Suomen puhelinluettelo for Jyväskylä, I believe) from Fonecta using this form.

I would also check for local ads from privates who may be selling
their copy (for couple of euros, instead of twenty-or-so as new)
and... have a casual look at paper collection bins as well, when you bring
old newspapers
