How to find a good lawyer?

Post by Incognito » Sun Apr 27, 2008 9:53 am

Hi all,

I had an unpleasant incident in Helsinki last year and took a lawyer for the case. The lawyer charged 300 euros per hour. Together we wrote a reclamation letter to the offender.
He did not inform me that I had received a reply from the offender. I only heard it when I after several weeks waiting contacted him. Then we met again. We summarised a response but now he charged in advance for some issues he was supposed to do. I did not hear anything. Then I contacted him about the tasks. He had not completed them, neither had he informed me that there had been a new reply - again some weeks ago.

So, I did not find it reasonable to continue with him. Otherwise I had a double job-the primary indicent and the burden with the lawyer.

I contacted a lawyer recommended to me but she was too busy. I have tried to find a good lawyer but the good ones maybe have too much job - and the "lazy" ones, like mine, advertise everywhere. Finally they do not do anything(okay this is generalisation but there has been discussion in the public about the overprised advocate fees).

Anyone who knows a good lawyer, pls send me a private message. I will be very thankful.
cheers, Incognito

Nobody (especially lawyers) wants to kill a well milking cow.

I am sad, then, to be a cow. I could transform into a squirrel. That may help.

If it's not such a big issue and you've got some spare time, you could always take care of things yourself. Most lawyers have no idea about the law, they just follow procedure.

This squirrel and cow stuff is all very fine, but does anyone know a good lawyer? I too would be interested in one.
