What is the Plussa Card for?
What is the Plussa Card for?
Hey there:
I've been noticing that people have been using a membership card of sorts "Plussa" and was wondering what it is about?
I tried translating the website on Google Translate but it didn't work. Said the link wouldn't go through.
Does it cost anything?
I noticed in the flyers it gives you a sort of discount depending on the sale.
Thanks for the help!

The card enables you to accumulate points and at the end of each month you receive a voucher you can redeem against your next purchases. There are also some special offers reserved for cardholders occasionally. Bit of a waste of time, in my opinion. The good discounts don't kick in unless you spend a lot of money in the Kesko stores. Their aim to get encourage loyalty to Kesko, so you don't shop in S-group stores. But IIRC the card doesn't cost anything, so you might as well get one and use it.

we have K-plussa, S-card and ukkos bonus card...we're "loyal" to everyone

Re: What is the Plussa Card for?
We do the same, we have both S and Plussa cards and just buy whatever is at a good price. In my opinion the bonus system and the coupons you get sent home are completely useless, you have to commit to only one chain and buy lots from them each month for those to make any difference.
The good thing, however, about having the cards is that they are free and that both chains have special deals quite often that require the card. If it is stuff you would buy any way, it can make a bit of a difference to your wallet to have the cards.
The companies use the cards to try to lock you to only them, and also to get statistics on who buys what.

Re: What is the Plussa Card for?
there are often some discounts with the plussa card. Also, the bonus "rolls over" unlike the S-card.
The S-card does cost something but if I remember correctly it's paid by "magic". Both give up to 5 % back - 5% is when you spend 1500 euros/month

You are right that to get the S card you need to pay something, I had forgotten about that. But isn't it something like you pay to become a member of the "owners of S stores" club and you get the money put into your S account (I haven't figured out how to get money out of it again but haven't really tried). COOP in Sweden has the same system I think, you are a "mini owner" in the chain of stores.

Here’s the Wikipedia article about consumers’ cooperatives.interleukin wrote:You are right that to get the S card you need to pay something, I had forgotten about that. Re: What is the Plussa Card for?
Two weeks ago asked at the super and was told that would be 8,4 and for free if ordered online. Monday got a bill on the mail informing that I'd get the card as soon as the bill was paid (8,4)... next day got the card on the mailpanda_123 wrote:Hey there:

They discount the first x-euros from your bonus. In my case it took almost 2 years, 35 euro IIRC. The amount may be different with other cooperatives, there's 22 of them in the group. The S-card does cost something but if I remember correctly it's paid by "magic". Based on the standard of women who have approached me there, I guess you are marketing Plussa to us allPursuivant wrote:I thought if you get the S-card you go to Hotel Vantaa and get some ass?

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.
Re: What is the Plussa Card for?
the plussa caed generally gets you good discount prices, but you will get less bonus money.
THe S card has less good "member prices" but you will accumulate more bonus money.
e.g. we spent 1700€ on items in Musta porssi and got 8€ with plussa
We spend about 700€ a month in S chain and get about 35€ back.
I dont think plussa is worth "collecting" but its worth having for the discounts they offer
