Washing machine suggestions

Hi,

Im moving in new here from Germany and Ive never bought a wash machine before, so Im a little lost.
I am single, and probably wash clothes 2 or 3 times a month.
Im looking at something cheap (with a dryer, or a washer and a dryer ) and nothing fancy (basic features will do) sub 500 Eur maybe? and can handle 5kg of clothes at one go...
Im open to giving up the dryer dream if its expensive.
I checked online prices at elgiganti but cant really find anything or rather cant really make sense of the offers.
One other thing is if there are options here in finland to pay monthly payments ?

Any suggestions will be really helpful!

I got a drying washer from hobbyhall - they don't seem to have those any more... something like this:

Depends how you setup... cheaper to buy someones old top-fill and then just dry in the bathroom on lines... if you got a big bathroom.

If you live in an apartment building, then you don't need your own washing machine, or dryer. Use the communal washing room of the building for washing and drying. Also if you have Sauna in your apartment, you definitely don't need the dryer

That is - *if* you have a communal washer room... we got a communist dryer room (any clothes there get socialized)

I am surprised at myself for doing that !

This is strange, most of the buildings I have lived in Helsinki (atleast 4 including the present one) have had a communal washing room !

Communist drying room is a novel concept

I think that has built your charachter so now you can laugh at the people complainiong theres no fresh curry leaves in Helsinki... nevermind eating off banana leaves... hey I've eaten with fingers in Helsinki invited at a family dinner... a spoon and eating sitting at a table were included as european fashions just for my sake...

To answer,
no my apartment does not have a washer/dryer and
yes it has a sauna!

Pursuivant, thanks for the link, I actually did see that and the fact that they deliver after 24/9 is fine by me, so that s an option.

Btw, are there rules here on how the machine is mounted? I live in the first floor of the apt so Im worried about the noise/vibration!

The question is, unless you have a "credit record" here they might not give you it on down payment. Mounting you need to have the tap in proper and bathrooms in Finland are waterproofed, so its not that difficult necessarily... mind you though if you live in an old house they got narrow bathrooms and narrow bathroom doors so doeas it fit in?

Yep, your assessment is totally correct. That was indeed a character building stint. Glad that you finally did get to eat with fingers ! some cultural buildup for you as well. I am myself surprised how come I never got to go at any of the pub quizzes ! this time I am sure to be present
