car test fail - need help

Post by anas465 » Sat Oct 03, 2009 2:13 pm

Hi,

Today I had my car (Volvo) inspected : Two problems were found, I think it is something related to the front axel, some joints needs to be changed or something like that (the guy was speaking few english and was hard to get what he meant)

Does anyone understand what that means :

- Akselistot, pyöräat ja jousitus, etuakselisto, alatukivarren laakerointi, välyksellinen, vasemmalla takana sisempi
- Akselistot, pyöräat ja jousitus, etuakselisto, alatukivarren pallonivel, välyksellinen, Vasemmalla

And also if you can recommend me some place to get that fixed (previous experience, cheap, ...) around Helsinki-espoo-vantaa

Thanks!

Where do you think to find someone criminally insane who will change steering parts to something from an old car? If you can't afford... whats an alapallonivel, about 30 euros in Motonet, then maybe you should take the bus. The bearing set will cost you some, but I'd suppose someplace like Hessumobiili has deals. And if I was you I'd have the repair guy buy the parts as you cannot take them back if they are wrong - you need to know what you buy.

Wow Hank you are getting old lol. There are plenty of shows now on Jim, Discovery, and Max, that are about car restoration. And YES they will use used parts as they are still damn good. And will pass inspection fully. Maybe you dont know a lot about cars as I do and maybe I dont know as much about computers as you do... But dont pretend to ok. Used steering parts are fine if they are within tolerance.

 depends on what steering parts... I could rant you on the joys of changing a front axle on a beetle but thats beside the point. I kind of miss seeing the worth in changing old bearings or the socket joint from something soaked in brine for the past 20 years before it expired... you probably would change the old hoses as well... but then again you get your information watching "pimp my ride"

No Hank, I get my info from working for 14 years total in a repair shop that did close to 1 million dollars a year in repairs. And if you think I got my info from Pimp my ride you are Hilarious. If MTV ever put something life threatning on their shows as advice to people, many people would be sueing MTV now. You know us Americans. lol. :D Please Hank, this is one of my specialties, dont embarass yourself furthur. 99% of the time u can embarass me but not this time ok chap. You are a computer expert and an expert on alot but these things I know. Dont give stupid axle examples etc. Ill write you a book if you want on what can be changed and what cant. Stick to your Kia.

Its not a Kia, its a pontiac lemans = daewoo microwave... and I don't regard it a "car", last one I could call a "car" I owned was a 65 mercury comet...

I agree with the 65 comet! But please dont tell me u own a LeMans. Dont make me go through our old posts to find out what car you own. It was in a conversation regarding rustproofing. A Jap car or a Korean car as I remember. Common, come clean. No lieing in this forum! Dont tell me American cars rust lol. I know that wasnt your Lemans outside Quiz night lol.
P.S-- You loved your car. Dont make me pull up past threads...

Just like your women Hank huh! You are avoiding my question as usual. Our 2009 Mitsubishi Grandis is doing just fine btw. And also just so you know Hank, I now have a great position in Pharmaceutical Marketing for one of the top Finnish Pharmaceutical companies. You bashed me for a long time but that made me try even harder. Maybe that is your technique but it worked. So I am finally happy. You made me pretty depressed one winter you basta£d. But now with 2 kids, a gorgeous wife, a great job, it all worked out here. Sure I hate foreigners here too. (I was ready to get out of the car today on 3 brown guys) that pissed me off while driving with my 18 month old. But thats another story. Love ya Hank!
