They have not presented any preferences?
Possibly gift list? At least one couple had list made in store which held their desired items.

Don´t they have pages in the net? Nowadays they usually do, with a list of gifts they would like to have. It makes it easier for a guest, since peoples tastes and needs are different. I have just bought a wedding gift, and I just crossed it over from their list. That list was very specific: • 6 "name of the manufacturer + model" red wine glasses, 4 "manufacturer + model" plates, and so on.
When people are 30 they have lived by themselves about 10 years and have just about everything. And when they move together they have at least 2 of everything. Buying gifts was way easier at the times when young couples had just two odd plated and one old frying pan.

no such luck

Then maybe you should arrange 10 toasters for them with other guests. Bonus points if they are exactly same and from the same shop and deal done with the shop so young couple gets gift voucher when they return 9 or 10.shwetach wrote:no such luck

Do they have a special bank account where you can contribute for their honeymoon? That is easy, I often do that. Or can you call and just ask what they want/need? Nobody wants to give a vase that is later hidden in the back of the cupboard. A gift card to a shop is a neutral alternative. They can get whatever they want. Or if you end up buying something, get glasses/plates/whatever, that are so neutral that they suit just about every taste.

I just remembered one item from the list of that 2 microwawes/2 washing machines/2 everything couple: a stewing pot. Slow cooking is maybe something they have not done earlier.

Re: Wedding gift for a Finnish Couple
My son just got married last Saturday. Although they were registered at a store for gifts he hoped they would get more cash and fewer gifts from the store. Money IS appropriate!
