Has anyone noticed the distinct lack of good snowfall in Finland in recent years?
I am sure that twenty years ago we were guaranteed a complete white out for the winter months. Now this is not the case. Could this be due to global warming or is this how it always was.

It's certainly due to some sort of warming. Black Christmases in Jyväskylä were something like 1972, 1993, 2006, 2007. Last winter we didn't get anything below -25, although we had -43 the year before, and -35 the year before that. But these are simply snapshot numbers, we will only know the bigger picture after more years, which could well be too late.
Political correctness is the belief that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

As far as the natural, perpetual cycles go, shouldn't we be in a relatively cooler period at present?
That would mean that the unnatural, uncyclical warming we seem to be experiencing is actually worse than it appears and will be further accentuated when the forces behind the natural cycles come back around to a cyclically warm phase.
I remember plenty of snow that stuck around in Helsinki in the 80's.

As he persisted, I was obliged to tootle him gently at first and then, seeing no improvement, to trumpet him vigorously with my horn.
