I just moved to Helsinki with my girlfriend we both need a bike.
Does anyone have one on offer? Or do you know where we can get second hand bikes?
Your help is so much appreciated!!!!

Yeah, that works. Oops that one is gone now.

hi, there are a few boot sales(kirppu tori) around, there one at the bottom of Bulevardi, almost every day, and i believe there,s one around Kallio, on sundays,, ask around.. . ,other than that I noticed a guy repairing bikes in meripuiston tie in lauttasaari,, about twenty metres from lauttasaarentie on the left,, maybe he sells bikes too but you don,t need to pay too much cos they are not expensive to buy new these days, check new in Biltema. good luck.

Hi!
I'll tell you what happened to us with our first and last kirpputori bike. Bought one for the kids to drive to the railway station, cost 40 euros which wasn't that bad. No warranty -naturally because it was Kirpputori.
It was an old bike, a little noisy but OK. Until it broke down. Took it to the bike repair shop - and it cost 90 euros to fix it - a lot of parts had to be changed since they were worn out. However, we thought that now it's fixed and nobody would steal that bike since it's so old and looks bad - until it was stolen!
Had to get a new bike. Bought a new one on sale at Biltema - cost 170 euros. It came with 1 year warranty. Was fixed once using warranty, and it has worked fine 3 years now and still going strong.
- Was at Biltema today for other errands, and noticed that they are selling some simple bikes with no gears for 119 e with 1 year warranty. Not bad!

Just stay at the no gears variety, if going to Biltema route and the value is good.Keravalainen wrote:Had to get a new bike. Bought a new one on sale at Biltema - cost 170 euros. It came with 1 year warranty. Was fixed once using warranty, and it has worked fine 3 years now.
