Post by brengun » Fri Oct 23, 2009 11:54 am

Hi, my son wants a new computer, he needs one capable of handling games.(so,he says). He,s checked the main outlets and came up with a price of 800 euros, excluding the screen.. Does anyone out there have any ideas /opinions on this?

check hintaseuranta.fi
and depending on a laptop or a desktop...
But for that €, you can get a very powerful one for a desktop..and the laptop might lack in some gaming renditions as mostly, the normal laptops run with shared graphics memory..

If your son wants to play the latest games it won't be cheap, probably around the €1000 + range, go to www.mikromafia.fi, iv'e used it for quite a few years when iv'e built pc's for friends and are pretty cheap, if you buy a computer from a normal shop it's always an idea to try a game that your son wants on it before you buy it.
So long and thanks for all the fish...

I think that Verkkokauppa.com have reasonable prices. You can order from Germany too, and save few bucks.
If you order from Germany, you'll have to prepare yourself to wait longer if something gets broken.

If you are not sure about those parts, like if they are compatible / bang for buck, then post those parts to any HW site and ask their advice.

I could build you one for almost half that figure and guarantee it for 6 months.

I guess one thing we know is you don't want to buy your computer at whatever the place was that sold r32 a computer with dissimilar/incompatible memory in it and charged him for two power supplies.

R32's topic
As he persisted, I was obliged to tootle him gently at first and then, seeing no improvement, to trumpet him vigorously with my horn.

. little frank, i may take you up on that, and i don,t need to play games ,like my son., therefore it may be quite a lot cheaper.
