living in Kangasala

Post by guoqing » Sun Nov 01, 2009 7:26 pm

Hi All,

Anyone has experience of living in kangasala suorama and lentola area? I am thinking to buy a house there but I don't know that area very well. We have kids so our main concern is whether the area is good/convenient for family with kids, like neuvola, päiväkoti, schools, public health care, public/private clinic... , better or worse compare with tampere ?
And we both works in Tampere. If we move to Kangasala from Tampere, is there something needed to be considered ?

Thank you in advance!

Regards

The municipal tax (kunnallisvero) is higher in Kangasala than in Tampere.

Hi,

We live in Kangasala. It is a very family oriented area with lots of activities most of the year. There are lots of shops and shopping centres so you will find that you do not need to travel very far, unless of course you want something very specific. There are päiväkoti´s for both English and Finnish. The local transport is vey good including express buses to Helsinki for example. The local hospital is very good as well as the dentist facilities. For kids there is a centre which they can go to for checkups etc. It´s not a long drive to Tampere and not far from the major connecting highways in any direction in Finland. Kangasala is quite peaceful, friendly and safe enough. There is a high demand for houses in the area too.

Hope this helps.

Drew.
