Hi everyone

I need to stock up on my kitchen knives.

Does anyone know where the best cookshop would be? I'm in Helsinki.

thanks

Don't know about the "best" - but Chez Marius is quite good I believe (on Fredrikinkatu, 26)

Apart of specialized shops like Chez Marius, Sokos has a good selection of
Victorinox knifes, and actually my daily 'chef knife' is a honest swedish Mora
that I bought at Clas Ohlson.

Stockmann sells Wüsthof and Kokkipuoti ( http://www.kokkipuoti.fi ) IIRC Zwilling J.A. Henckels. If you know exactly what you want, ordering from the net is also an option worth considering, e.g. http://www.knivesandtools.com (they often have knife sets on discount).

I also use a rubber-handled "mora" 2.99 from K-rauta  Then I have a set of Japanese knives I got from Tokyokan with obscene prices...

http://www.nexet.fi is the importer for Victorinox and they do stock the pro range.

I would also say Stockmann and Chez Marius have the best ranges and then there is Fiskars which is fine for normal use (the shop in Fiskars village has the full range and I think are a bit cheaper than in Helsinki)

But for the best prices on professional knives then I think you need to shop on the internet.

If you know your knives, best deals are on internet.
If you don't, stick with Wustenhoff (zwilling) at Stockmann.
