Finnish culture and customs

Post by hannah_7 » Wed Nov 18, 2009 12:10 pm

I'm very interersted in Finnish culture but I'm not very familiar with it (yet!)- what are some traditions and customs of the Finnish? Is the culture a lot like the other nordic countries?

Thanks, that website acutally gives a great overview of all aspects of their culture. It was interesting to read about the 'swedish-speaking' finns. In general I get the feeling that finnish culture is somewheat similar to norwegian and dannish culture (both countries of which I've visited) in terms of values and general life style.

In soma aspects... "Janteloven" doesn't even come close to Finnish jealousy though.
