Elisa/Kolumbus internet

Many years ago when I first moved here I signed up for internet connection with Elisa. I had a nice "control panel" webpage somewhere under www.kolumbus.fi where I could create mailbox aliases etc. Of course I set it all up and haven't touched it for at least 5 years. You can guess what's coming, right? Yep, I need to modify a mailbox. The old Kolumbus address redirects to elisa.net and I can't find anything remotely resembling the old control panel on that godawful portal.

I suspect I need to register with oma.elisa.fi, but that one leads me to a "please log in to your netbank" page. I think they want money

I know it's a long shot, but does anyone know what happened with the old Kolumbus stuff? Has it all disappeared and become a "paid for" service?

Kolumbus disappeared and became part of Saunalahti. So maybe Saunalahti can help you out.

The "log into your internet bank" thing does not necessarily mean that they want money, it is also a common way of verifying the identity of the person. If you can log onto the person's internet bank, you are probably the right person.

As interleukin said netbank is commonly used by goverment (kela,mol,tax) and companies to make sure who you are. You log in your netbank and it asks "you are john foreigner etc, press ok to send this info and return" and they can be relatively sure you are who you say.

Thanks for that, I guess I was just too suspicious

Now registered and after much cursing and some consulting of my Finnish/English dictionary I even managed to find the new email config pages. And all in less than 15 minutes too!
