Did anyone here get tax returns by now?
Or am I asking this question a bit too early?

Yeah early, some 11 and ½ months in advance. Haven't you got yours?

If they knew your bank account number it was paid 4.12 and if not they sent "maksuosoitus" starting from 9.12 (no idea how long it takes them to post all). Have you checked your mail recently? Maybe letter is missing, its coming from bank and tells "with this letter John Doe 010101-0101 can withrawl 101e paid by verohallinto" or something like that. I think letter should have arrived already so you better to call.

thanks folks and sorry for my late reply. I was away from Finland.

Alrighty, I called to the tax office. They said that I won't get any returns. I was kinda unsatisfied from their answer so I decided to pay a personal visit to tax office near kaisaniemi metro station. Now good folks in that office said that they were unable to get my papers, meh! However, they gave me a paper to fill it out and come back to them later. So I followed the instructions precisely, and gave them that duly filled paper today

Now what I need to do is cross my fingers and wait for the decision.

You did not get any mail from tax office this Autumn (I think it was September)? That is when everybody was supposed to get the calculations of the final amount of taxes due from previous year, and with it a notification if you needed to pay more could expect a refund?

Glad you're sorting that out. Here's the update from YLE on the fraudsters:
Authorities have uncovered an extensive tax rebate fraud. Tax rebates were paid to incorrect bank accounts across Finland when criminals convinced the authorities by letter that account numbers had changed.

Police are investigating as aggravated fraud the illicit readdressing of tax rebates into incorrect accounts. Three people from south east Finland are in custody. Several others are wanted by the police to assist in their enquiries.

Those involved stole postal items and used personal data to successfully re-route the tax rebates of 21 people into a total of 40 other accounts(...)
