What sort of battle did it require to become established?

Fish and chips is a delightful combination, and the best of luck to you!

Fish and chip man, I saw you on TV yesterday, and I wish you luck. The time 22-04 just sounds bad. Why didn´t you get 18-24 or something like that?

They just wanted to test if you had the balls... Glad that you persisted

I hear that brits use cod fish for their fish and chips, what a waste... Do you use it and is it worth going by or do I risk being traumatized for life (speaking as a cod fish lover)?

Congratulations! You somehow managed to get your business foot in the door, off to a start, and once government receives some genuine tax revenue perhaps your business future could become brighter.

Fish and chips is an irresistible combination, and the best of luck to you!

Cod or haddock is the normal (wiki says flounder too). Usually cod though.

Never eat the stuff myself, but I would have a try if I am down that way!

Fish n Chip Bloke - Are you gonna do chips n gravy!!???!! :D

Such command+economy thinking till infecting the bureaucracy...

You'd think they'd let customers decide whether fish-and-chips are needed. If they are it will thrive, if they aren't it will not. Customers tend to make a lot smarter decisions than bureaucrats.

To me it sounds like people will be happy to have such an alternative to the usual korvakioski and will vote with their Euros.
As he persisted, I was obliged to tootle him gently at first and then, seeing no improvement, to trumpet him vigorously with my horn.

If it wasn't regulated, then every walkway would be full of little carts selling this or that. Or at least that is what they fear, I think.

There's frozen Turska on supermarkets (used to be at the S chain), sometimes they also have fillet. And the dried& salted stuff from Norway in Hakaniemi (actually is saithe but still pretty good.) I reckon I have also used haddock a couple of times in the past, before the dried fish become available.
