is unmarried father guardian of his child?

Post by african » Mon Jan 18, 2010 12:17 am

What is the difference between guardian and custody?
1 .Do unmarried fathers who have done DNA, aknowledge parternity, sign for maintenance of a child, see his child everyday and name the child with the child bearing his family needs to sign an agreement with the mother before he can be recognise as a guardian of his child?
2. If yes, why should the father allow to sign contract with the government of finland on the maintenance of the child if he is not recognise as the guardian of the child?

ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE IDEAS ABOUT THIS ARE WELCOME TO COMMENT AND I NEED GENUINE COMMENTS ONLY RACIST COMMENTS. THANK YOU

Being a guardian is a legal status, it's done at the council offices. I guess that courts can also determine if you're a guardian or not. Being a guardian is that you are responsible for a child and can make necessary decisions on their behalf.

Yes, you can be obliged to pay maintainence without being the guardian, or without even having visiting rights - this is resonably common. If you help create a child you are obliged to support it, that's what maintainence is for.
