DATA ON FINNISH ID

Post by briggitta » Mon Feb 15, 2010 3:58 am

  Am Currently studying in one of the universities in finland but have had problems with Migri on my residence permit since last year for some reasons, i think am innocent if more investigations had been done on that
Though, an appeal is pending at the court.
problem is, no information about my identity after giving my number was shown on screen couple of weeks ago when i went to buy some stuff from the shop for my internet :( .
Does any one have any idea about this and if possible what measures or approach to take ?
thanks to all

What do you mean "didn't show"? You mean you do not exist? Or you mean as you aren't legally a resident any more your ID number is somehow been shelved?.

well....the shop attendant just told me that no information about me came on screen when she punched in my Finnish ID number .My identity could not be varified :o
Moreover, I had some credit balance to pay back of which the bills come 10th of every month but has seized coming into my mail box since December,2009.

Thats weird, the numbers don't "disappear"...maybe you should go ask the maistraatti what happened (and calling the credit agency might be useful as they are pretty eager to put stuff into collection)

i have currently been placed at the thin border between Finland and my country. With a smile from the face of that great man at the appeal court ,i fall back to the territory of Finland otherwise, i wouldnt have to think about cold winter any more for the remaining two years ahead :x .
My Finnish boyfriend bad I are looking for ways to handle this situation and even if the worst happen and i have to go back to my country, he wouldn't have much difficulty joining me there.
We thought of marrying in Finland "genuine marriage of course" because we have been dating each other for almost a year but the fear is, how will they believe us and stop thinking that we are just trying to manipulate issues because I have already been placed the border between Finland and my country.
Currently studying about 60km from him and marrying him will mean we cant cant live under one roof but only 3 days within a week at-most when school is in session but living together 24/7 in holidays throughout the entire period of my studies.
Can we go ahead with the marriage or just register the same address at maastratii?
cant wait for your advice because am totally confused and feeling nervous :?

Well, without knowing what your country is, it's hard to say - but in general, you don't need to "prove" your relationship (feelings) with somebody in order to get married. However, you will need to obtain some accredited form of proof from your home country, stating that you are not already married there. Beyond this, you can't legally "prove" your feelings so it should be okay.

You can of course get married, and it is hard to see how it could possibly hurt your appeal. It possible it does not help much very much either (but then again it just might), but it won't hurt.

And presumably, if you are considering moving (even temporarily) to your home country, then you two being married could be helpful to your boyfriend in getting a residence permit there?
