Need help from Entrepreneurs in Finland urgently!

hello everyone!

I am planning to put up my own online homebased business and i would really appreciate
if anyone can help me and give me some steps that i need to do inorder to run my online business in a legit and legal way. When i mean steps i mean from start to finish. Basically i don't know how it works to have a business here in finland especially the online home based one. So please let me know what to do. I know for the fact that i have to register but i would really want to take them one step at a time since i am a mom with a 1 year old son.

And another thing i would like to ask. I am planning to have 2 online business with different domain names. Is it possible to make only one company name with only one VAT number? Or do i have to register both with different name and VAT?

Go and talk to the nice people at the Patents and Registration Office (PRH) in Kamppi, that's where it all happens. With a toiminimi, you can register up to three seperate business names/areas under the same business ID ("Y-tunnus").

You can also get a lot of good advice (and some free courses) on setting up a business from TE Keskus, INTO Finland, YritysHelsinki, Uusyrityskeskus, and many others - look them up online, all of them offer material and support in English. Are you planning to employ an accountant? A good one should be able to assist you in setting up your business.

Not really, as long as you have your paperwork in order. Of course, if the name you've thought for your business is too similar to that of an existing one, they might reject it.
