As a Father living in uk my wrights to see my daughter
Hi
I am a British Citizen my daughter in now in Finland with my ex-girlfriend, who is not communicating with me neither allowing me to see my daughter. We have a joined custody as my ex and my daughter both have a Danish passport now moved their residency to Finland.
How can I see my daughter on a regular basis as I can go their after every couple of month to see her and may well move myself to Finland to be closer to my daughter who is only 2 year old end of October.
My ex doesn't talk or coressposnd with me.
I need help and advise on this matter.
Thanks

Were you ever married? Did the courts give you joint custody or is this an arrangement you agreed mutually? Where were you all living when the decision was made? Does your daughter have a GB passport?
In most cases the child cannot be moved from his/her habitual place of residence (which may or may not be the child's country of birth or citizenship) without the agreement of all parties involved (I think this is the gist of the Hague Convention). If your ex- has moved to Finland with your daughter with the sole intention of avoiding you, then you may have some grounds for a legal case.
You need to get a lawyer specialised in these kind of cases. You might get some advice from a few people on here who have been through a similar situation but ultimately only a lawyer can give you the help you need. You should also try and contact one of the organisations for fathers estranged from their children, as they are good at giving support.
Dashing up to Finland might not be the best solution since you will hit a language barrier as soon as you arrive and probably use up significant finances just getting here and finding somewhere to stay. The Finnish authorities will probably not want to get involved if neither parent has Finnish citizenship.
Good luck.

You have right to see your daughter 2 times per month in social services facilities, and meeting are monitoring by social worker...
Re: As a Father living in uk my wrights to see my daughter
You have a right to see your daughter no matter where.
You are a European citizen.
The Finnish system is very much like the Uk one, except it might be fairer.
I suggest you contact the Finnish Embassy and tell them what is going on.
They will take your plight seriously, especially if your ex-wife/partner has purposely taken your child away.
The fact she went to Denmark first will not help her.
If you pose no danger to your daughter, just want your parental right to see her, they will help you.

If the ex is a Danish citizen, as is the kid as Denmark follows the same system as Finland - it still doesn't make a difference as the "system" is the same more or less in the Nordic countries. You still have visitation rights - now if you were "declared as father" in Denmark. If the kid is "fatherless" then you can sue in Finland for paternity test and get registered as the father - now it also should apply to in Denmark.
