Night school - Finnish courses

Post by amberpatomo » Sun Mar 28, 2010 7:12 pm

I am hoping that Lahti offers night school for a finnish course but am not sure where to start in my research. I have 3 kids at home and do not want to take the culture course that is offered because it requires daily attendance (8 hours) and is set up like a school program. I think it lasts for 2 or 3 years. I am just looking for some short course or maybe daily course that doesn't last to long. Maybe private lessons?

My two older kids would be okay at paivakoti but my baby is only 1 and would not handle me being away. I am sort of willing to consider the foreigner culture course if there is nothing else but I don't want to put aside my children. I am worried though that when they start school I will not be able to get a job because of my poor finnish skills.

I feel like I am always asking questions on this forum. I wish I was of more use to others. I hope one day I will have the experience to assist the newbies. :)
