Re: *** Tax Training for the Self-Employed***
Hi Penelope,
Good idea. Depending on the date, I'll be glad to attend as well.

Good! Thx.
I hope to have some more info at the end of the month. I am too busy this week to sort out all the logistics but I will post something on here as soon as I have more details.

Re: *** Tax Training for the Self-Employed***
Thanks!
I have enrolled on evening session on the 12th April (Business Economics of a small company).
After I have been I'll report back! It would be impossible for me to organise a similar course for free! So, depending on how detailed this course is, I may or may not pursue the idea of organising a more detailed bookkeeping and tax session at a later date.
Anyone else going on this course at Entreprise Helsinki?

Penelope, I will see you there then!

Re: *** Tax Training for the Self-Employed***
I will also be there! I'm glad I noticed this - haven't had a lot of time for internet (or my business) lately, what with my wife giving birth. But, see you on the 12th! Should we forumites find some way to identify each other?

Well I was thinking more of a traditional pink carnation in the lapel, but I suppose tinfoil hats and/or meeting somewhere for a coffee could also work.penelope wrote:green lipstick? foil hats? a copy of The Times? Re: *** Tax Training for the Self-Employed***
Just so everyone's clear (because it is phrased quite vaguely on their website), it's a two-part lecture starting on the 12th and finishing on the 19th, rather than the same lecture happening on the first date and being repeated on the second.penelope wrote:I have enrolled on evening session on the 12th April (Business Economics of a small company).
Re: *** Tax Training for the Self-Employed***
OK - thanks I didn't get that. They sent back my enrolment and asked me to fill out a form with my company details, which I have done (I am not on their register). I hope I qualify: I live in Espoo not HEL and my company has existed since the 80s since my husband set it up. We appended my business onto his to avoid putting up another 2500€ capital for a new entity.
Re: *** Tax Training for the Self-Employed***
I had to fill in my details too, but I live in Porvoo, and I had no problems. I think it's just a formality. As for the two-part nature of it, I wasn't sure either so I asked them in an email, and they confirmed that it was. So, where shall we have our coffee?

I am intrested too

Re: *** Tax Training for the Self-Employed***
Perhaps it might be a good idea to have a list of questions ready for the course, since I'm sure a lot of the stuff we're all asking here on a regular basis is bound to be covered.
Re: *** Tax Training for the Self-Employed***
Good idea.
For example, I would like to know to what extent you need separate bookkeeping for different (unrelated) activities or whether you can put everything through the same accounts.
There have also been lots of questions on here about unemployment compensation for the self-employed. How do you de-activate your toiminimi if you can't get work?
But most of all I just want to get to trips with the new tax account system.
