Is this wholesale price ok??
Dear all,
I think I really have to open a candy shop, as I am not sure if the price of this shop good enough, can you please help me with your professional finnish judgment D ?
This is the candy wholesale shop I found in google:
http://www.hky-palvelut.fi/makeistukku.html
Do you think it is expensive to buy from here?
I will be very grateful by hearing from you!

I noticed that the prices in those "do it yourself" candyshops went up lately.
Also some have dissapeared and the candy stands in supermarkets get smaller.
When I see that the wholesale price is €5,- (without vat) I think candy has become to expensive.
Go to some shops and look at their prices. Then decide if there is enough margin for you.

At a guess... the prices are going up because the tax might go up. When the tax goes up again the wholesalers eat the difference and they don't lose so many customers.
The price of raw sugar is probably increasing due to the demand (for ethanol).
And people are probably cutting down.
Just guessing!

Yes, but isn't the sugar tax going up?
I read somewhere that they intend to increase the tax on ice-cream
in line with candy and chocolates.
All VAT rates go up by 1% point in the autumn.

Hi,
I really think that you should think about where you would like to open your candy shop since the placement could affect the sales price with considrable per centages. Next to the movies you can decide your own price and from there it os just down the retail price curve for candy..
Then again there are a lot of people using candy shops as a laundry
Best regards,

This was the article I remembered on the new tax on sweets. So, my guess is the manufacturers are increasing their prices now so they can absorb the new tax and keep the customers happy. Just marketing and psychology.
