Help for repair a Nopsa Bike!!!!

Post by Daeste » Fri Apr 09, 2010 10:06 pm

Hello from Spain!!!

I was living in Finland (Turku) one year, I bought a fantastic Nopsa bike and definitely, I falled in love with it. I came back to Spain three years ago, and I took the bike with me. I have been using the Finnish bike on the dangerous streets of Madrid. I´m proud of my Finn Bike!! :P But yesterday I had an important problem with my back wheel, one screw it's broken and I would need to change it. I have been in three Bikes Shop in Madrid... and they told me that: "we don't have this kind of pieces, are very peculiar here".

I need to repair my bike as soon as possible, is my perfect method of transport in Madrid. So please, some of you, could send me (by traditional letter) the screw??? Of course, I would pay the piece and the letter's stamp. I guess... no more than three euro. I will be very grateful.

I dont know how to put pictures here, so I will send the screw picture to my helper.

Thank you very much from Madrid (Spain) I miss Finland a lot.

Sounds kind of odd when you say 'a screw in the rear wheel', mainly because there aren't alot of screws in a wheel to start with.
There are spokes, spoke nipples, an axle (and nuts) but not much else apart from the rim, hub shell and bearings. Unless of course you have a hub gear system, is that the problem?
I suggest you email the Pyörätohtori, he speaks English and has all kinds of bits and pieces for sale as well.
Here is his website: http://www.pyoratohtori.fi/
Email address: tiedustelut(a)pyoratohtori.fi
Good luck!

Hi Pete,

Maybe, I explained wrong. I meant nut, not screw. The problem is very easy, I need one nut from the back wheel. The nut that connects the wheel with the bike. You know, in one side of my back wheel there is the Torpedo cable, in the other side tha back wheel there is the broken nut. That's the problem. I would like to show you the pics by the forum but I do not know how....

kiitos Pete!!! I will send an email to the Finn Bike Shop.

Ok, so the nut should be in stock at Pyörätohtori's shop, he has tonnes of stuff there.
Email pics of the nut, axle and the whole bike to him and he should know what you need.
Cheers, Pete.

Yeah! :P I wrote an email to the Bike Shop and they reply me immediately. I send them four pics with the nut and the bike. I guess... will be enough for the identification of the nut.

Pete, KIITOS very much for your help and attention. I will explain you the end of my bike&nut history.

Greetings from Spain!!!
