SKY TV - moving to Tampere

Post by FinCa » Sat May 08, 2010 10:39 am

Dear all,
Does anyone know if SKY TV is available in Finland, Tampere region, to be exact. I have heard conflicting reports, whether it works or not (borderline reception).
Thanks,
Miika

First of all, where will you be staying? The Finnish building rules are quite strict when it comes to erecting a satellite dish on your balcony. If you will have your own garden and not too grumpy neighbors, you may be able to get Sky, obviously taking in to account line of sight to the satellite eg no trees or buildings in the way.

I only know of one person that gets all of the channels, but we has a 2.4m dish. I bought a 1.8m dish and have tried to get Sky and managed but not the FTA channels BBC,ITV etc.

I ended up going the way of watching UK tv online iplayer etc.

Hi T-K,
Thanks, someone else also recommended going the IT way. We have a house in Tampere, or are going to have, so the line of sight should not be an issue..the neighbours, different story - don't know yet. I think I will look into the Internet thing..have to research a little more.
Cheers
