Eugène Scribe's "A Glass of Water" is a whirlwind of political intrigues, love affairs, duels and courtly gossip.
At the court of Queen Anne, a whim can change the fate of Europe and the smallest thing can alter the course of history. In this perilous terrain the characters must choose between love and duty, loyalty and political gain, honour and wealth. The clever dialogue, the fast pace, and the likable characters make this one of the greatest plays in Eugène Scribe’s career.
