Bus 615 to Airport

Hello,

Has anyone taken the bus 615 to airport with baby in a stroller before? Can i take the stroller on board the bus? And do i still pay the regional bus rate, or more?

Should be a free trip if your child in the stroller is young enough.

Yes, it's a regular bus. In fact I can get from the airport to the railway station, walk to Kamppi and then get a bus out to Olari/Espoo all on the one "ticket". Just. Actually it's quicker to get off the bus in Hakaniemi and take the metro to Kamppi.

So this is normal bus, not like a coach bus?`And i can wheel the stroller into the bus, right? That will be great for me, as my stroller is not easy to fold down.

Yeah a normal bus other than there are less seats and more luggage racks. You can wheel the stroller on in the middle as usual.

One and only thing "abnormal" about it is that if you take it from Helsinki centre, the first stop you're supposed to get out is in Vantaa (or possibly in the far away areas of Helsinki - I do not remember exactly) - this is to make the bus operate bit faster. Otherwise it is a normal regional traffic bus operating under the standard rules.

It also doesn't stop for people to get on between Vantaa and the central railway station ie: you can't get ON the bus in Helsinki when it is heading back into town.
