Rio Ferdinand to lift the World C...oh.
Maradona simply must do something absolutely batsh*t mental within the next 5 weeks or so. Any guesses what it will be?

People do not become more irritable as they grow old - they simply stop making the effort to avoid annoying others.

Yup, that's what the "C...oh" was aboutsinikettu wrote:Sorry no he will not..England captain Rio Ferdinand will miss the World Cup after suffering ligmament damage to his left knee in the team's first training session in South Africa..Salopian wrote:Rio Ferdinand to lift the World C...oh.

Not that I thought he would've even if not injured.

Re: World Cup 2010
In spite of his association with the Scum, I´ve no problem with Rio and am a bit gutted that he´s out.
Worse still Creasehead a.k.a. $tevie Me £a is now Captain. He shouldn´t even be in the side, he was utter dogshyt last season.

Re: World Cup 2010
Rio wasn't too hot either. TBH Im glad he is out I always thought he was going to be a liability given his fitness and his past season that was mistake prone
Re: World Cup 2010
So what are your bets, who would you put your money on?
I reckon that Portugal is not going far, and neither is England reaching the top 4 (even if you guys don't play us
)
I'd say Brazil, Spain, Holland and some other team, perhaps Germany or France.
And I agree with Simon, El Pibe is an idiot.

Id have to fancy Spain for this. They have prollly the best all round set of players, so my money would go on them. England will go out at about the second knockout stage guess could be . Brazil Im not too sure on them. Germany will be there or there abouts but they have lost their number one keeper so Im not to sure how hot the stand in is.
Cant see France doing all that well although they have an easy group, shame it wasn't the Irish but there you go. B interesting if a African team does well. Would like the Drog to play but thats looking doubtful
Re: World Cup 2010
Shining wit on the Hesari board says top goalscorer in South Africa will be Ku Ka Lie of North Korea.
Mind you, I bet the Italians will be a bit worried about the admittedly unlikely prospect of meeting Kim's boys in the last eight: last time it happened in 1966, they came away on the wrong end of a 1-0 result.
And Brazil won't be desperately happy about drawing Portugal in Group G, for that matter: when they met in '66 the Portuguese practically put Pelé in traction. All that got a bit forgotten of course in the drooling over Eusebio, but the Lusitanians were a filthy bunch back then.

Pelé: Voi vuitton! Hey, Ref! Fatso just snorted the penalty spot
and now he wants the entire centre circle!

I see Spain as the strongest contender.ajdias wrote:So what are your bets, who would you put your money on?

Brazil wont get too far with their old team, France has a crap team thanks to a crap trainer and Germany's team is full of new players. Holland is a big unknown but failed almost always when it was getting tough in the past.
Here in Finland, I have done everything I can to blend-in with the Finns, I've changed my hair color, wore differnet clothes, got different

There's only one nation educing memories of '66, and the ghost of Pak Doo Ik and nightmares of Iberian hatchet jobs don't feature...otyikondo wrote:Shining wit on the Hesari board says top goalscorer in South Africa will be Ku Ka Lie of North Korea.

...but as we're there, check out the American Beauty-esque opening to the highlights of Bra-Por and how aptly it's ended. The footage also begs the questions: why not, given their own propensity for the dark arts, treat the Black Panther in a similar manner? And how the hell did said player get that boulder of a thing to travel like it did @5:57? Strewth!
It would be great to see a match this time around akin to that quarter final between North Korea and Portugal. DRPK's quarter final appearance seems no fluke; those lads, like Cameroon in '90, really could play football.
Maybe this Jabulani (in collaboration will high altitude) will play its part in the scorelines.
