Hi
We are moving / returning to Espoo next year and have a child that will be 2 (should be properly bilingual Eng/Finn we hope) and one that will be 6 (Finnish but getting good at English).
Does anyone have experiences of the ICEC school at Niitykumpu Kappelitie 6C?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks
Liam
Anyone have their kids at ICEC (Kappelitie 6C)

I am not sure how much this would help, for I don't have kids there, but I visited that place and I was impressed. Of course, from outside things look nicer, but.. only by looking at the facts I would choose that place over others.Liam1 wrote:Hi

First, I liked the fact that they have pets. I think it is good that they expose children to animals, I dislike this tendency of creating a glass globe for them. (fat-free, fur-free, lactose-free, dust-free until the kid won't have antibodies to fight a fly, so to speak).
Then what I liked was the huge space they had, it is far from being a cramped place.
The lady there also talked about the priority in admission, but I don't remember quite well the order. Anyway, foreign and the expat families come among the first and the Finnish-Finnish ones the last.
Ehm, overall, maybe because of the person that was talking about the center, it seemed pretty well prepared and professional.
I'm sure, however, it is no paradise. There will be raised voices everywhere. There will be not quite following the theory and what they preach. But I think that's sort of.. life.
Free your mind and the rest will follow!

Thanks - we have already got the places agreed for next year so admissions should be OK.
Everything else that you say appeals to us as well
Cheers

I have worked in that company, the one thing I will say is they have a fairly high staff turn over in my opinion.
The kids are always happy enough and there are lots of planned activities.

I know a lot of children that have gone, or go there, and they are all happy, bright, curious and clever kids. Most seem to go there and also to The English School in Meilahti.
Good luck!
