From Helsinki to Varkaus

hi there,
Im going to move to Finland in August, and now im wondering how can i come to Varkaus city from Helsinki. Is there any flight route from Helsinki to Varkaus, or i have get there by train or by taxi . Thank you in advance, peace!

Finncomm might fly starting from 16.8, but the price might be silly. Train Helsinki-Pieksamäki switch to local for Varkaus, costs something like 60. Then you can take a coach too, probably with a switch or two.

Here's where you can look for a suitable connection...

By train - http://www.vr.fi/eng/ (approx. 4 hours, 50-60€) ... or by bus/coach - http://www.matkahuolto.fi/en/ (could be slightly cheaper but also will take a bit longer, 5 hours or so)

Taxi - it's possible of course, but you should carry very hefty wadges of cash!

As Pursuivant said there might be flights too - but they can be costly.

Thanks for your comments. I may fly to Varkaus from Helsinki since my luggages will be very big, heavy...So is it ok if i book the airline ticket fr Helsinki to Varkaus in advance when im still in Vietnam? Many thanks:D

But isn´t there a 20 kg limit? You would have to pay a hefty fee for heavy luggage in a plane.

Hey guys,
Is it possible to find an affordable hostel in Varkaus? The thing is im supposed to arrive in Varkaus around 9.30pm, and the housing companies may close at that time. Thats why i need to find a place to sleep overnight:D. Thanks in advance,
