Looking for members to join in starting a NGO

Hi,

Are you interested in joining and working for a NGO?
I would like to found an association here in Finland with others (at least 3 members) to advocate for citizen rights and promote healthy living.
At least one member should be fluent in Finnish, all of the founding members and committee should be residents of Finland and over 15 years.

Hi I'm somehow interested in this thread... What kind of work will we do? By the way I'm currently studying in Kokkola, northern part of Finland, is it ok? I can speak Finnish, not so good though... My nationality is Chinese, just a student in a school here, will have another 3 years for completing the study... Thanks and have a good day...

Hi Linda!
Well firstly we need some founding members (three, and I have 2 including me).
Membership is open to all regions in Finland. The focus is on quality of life for residents here, which can include everything from raising awareness and debate on issues like town planning and social services, and health in a general sense, including happiness and fitness, and access to nature. The organisation would organise activities and support or advice services. I can PM u with more info when we get it set up

Dear LK,

Your project sounds really interesting. I am based in Helsinki (as a post-doctoral researcher) and will be here for the foreseeble future. I am looking for some volunteer/NGO experience and as a recently-landed Helsinki resident am very interested in the issues you mention (eg. housing, planning, community relations). I'd definitely like to know more! Keep us posted.

Sounds interesting I'd be keen to learn more. I have a BSocSc (Human Services & Sociology) and a Diploma in Community Welfare along with a host of other potentially relevant qualifications and experience in govt and NGO.

Why don't you go to join the crowd of stupid foreigners pissed off no Finns pay any attention to them as their arse is not made out of gold even they think it is - and their opinions are worth crap as they are stupid - So now they are forming their own "Immigrant Parliament" so we Finns will then know exactly whom not to pay any attention to. Makes the job of being a Finn much easier, thanks.
